Greg Johnson - Club Director, Military Road location
Greg has a Master’s Degree in English with a Concentration in Professional and Technical writing. As marketing director for Cross Gates Family fitness, he is responsible for creating all internal and external marketing for the club. Greg develops our marketing strategies, promotional materials and website management.
Greg started working with Cross Gates Family Fitness in 1997. His career began in the Youth Activity Center where he has developed many children’s programs including Slidell’s finest Summer Camp. Greg is still actively involved in managing the club’s youth programs.
In addition to Marketing and assisting the Youth Activity Center, Greg is also a group fitness instructor at the club. He teaches Body Pump, Spinning and Group Training programs.
Joey Sanders - Club Director, Pontchartrain Drive location
With his passion for health and fitness, Joey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University. He started his career with Cross Gates in 2002 and has since been committed to providing every member and guest with the best possible experience each and every time they visit the club. Joey is responsible for fitness programming for the company, and he is dedicated to creating an inviting atmosphere and helping members of all ages achieve their health and fitness goals.
Nate Welch - Club Director, Gause Blvd Location
Nate is a proud alumni of Louisiana Tech University with a Finance degree. He is a south Louisiana native and desires to bring his recent sales success to Membership Department at Crossgates Family Fitness. He desires to share his passion for healthy living and exercise with the whole northshore community.
Jake Berman - Club Manager, Military Road location
Jake was born and raised in Slidell and started his career at Cross Gates in 2005 as a lifeguard (his very first job!). After working as a Lifeguard, Head Lifeguard, at the Cafe and Front desk, Jake went to Louisiana State University where his passion for Aquatics led him to a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a Minor in Business. He worked for the LSU Swim Team and coached University High School to two State Championships. After college, Jake lived his dream of being a Dolphin Trainer where he met his lovely wife Jessica. He's excited to be back in the Health and Fitness industry and for the opportunity to re-vamp and re-imagine the Aquatics programs at Cross Gates Family Fitness!
Lana Walgamotte - Club Manager, Military Road location
Lana earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Southeastern Louisiana University. She graduated in 2002 and has been with this company since that day. Her main objective is to create an uplifting and motivating environment for our members. She is involved in building teams, organizing, managing, and helping where necessary.
Missy Ellis - Membership Coordinator, Military Road Location
Originally from Cincinatti Ohio, Missy has a degree in Business Administration. With 20 years of management experience, including 10 years in the Health and Fintess Industry, Missy is passionate about customer service and helping new members get on the track to reaching their fitness goals.
Vanessa Lewy - Club Manager, Gause Blvd location
Vanessa Lewy graduated with a business administration degree from Georgia Southern University. Originally from New Orleans Vanessa moved to Slidell in 2005 and shortly after became a member of Cross Gates Family Fitness where she fell in love with Fitness! After a career in Sales and Marketing in the hospitality industry she joined Cross Gates team to share this love of fitness with others.
Tammy Phillips - Youth Activity Center & Club Manager, Gause Blvd location
Tammy Phillips started with Cross Gates Family Fitness in 2000 as our Childcare Manager. She has worked with children her entire adult life and her passion for working with the families of our community has allowed her to become even more involved in all areas of the club. In 2016 she joined the Gause Blvd management team as Club Manager while continuing to manage our children's programs. As a club manager, child care manager and even a certified personal trainer, Tammy uses her passion for the fitness industry to support and encourage everyone in their fitness undertakings. She wants everyone to feel welcome at Cross Gates Family Fitness and looks forward to meeting new people and helping them in their journey. In addition to her roles at CGFF, Tammy is also the owner or Slidell Gym Rompers and teaches the Gym Rompers classes as well.
Courtney D'Amelio - Youth Activity Center Youth Program Manager, Military Road location
Courtney has been with Cross Gates Family Fitness since January of 2011. She started out as a Helping Hands teacher with the 2-year old and 3-year old classes, worked as a Summer Camp Counselor for Cub Camp and in July of 2013 was promoted to Youth Activity Center Assistant Manager . In May of 2014 , she was promoted to full time Childcare Manager and was more then happy to take on the job. Children of all ages are her passion and she loves that she can offer them a place to go that is fun, safe and secure.
Bambi Moore - Youth Activity Center Manager, Military Road location
Bambi Moore has been a member of Cross Gates for 14 years and loved the club so much she wanted to become part of the team. Bambi is the mother of 4 and has a passion for working with children. For 10 years she was a school teacher and the director of Extended Care Programs. She is very excited to be able to blend her love for kids and Cross Gates and work with our YAC team to provide members, both parents and children, a nurturing, safe, active, fun and rewarding experience every time they visit the club.
Kembra Smith - Club Manager, Pontchartrain Drive location
Kembra had been a member with us for over 10 years before deciding to come on board as part of the Cross Gates Family at Pontchartrain. Her love of personal health and fitness lead her to working with us. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Psychology, which she uses to find out each individual’s personal goals and make a membership that will work specifically for them. Her hands-on approach involves getting in the club and getting active with members. She is Zumba certified and if she’s not in the office you can bet you will find her in the weight room.
Megan Greul - Club Manager, Pontchartrain Drive location
Megan is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana who moved to Slidell in 2008. Not long after her move, Megan joined the Cross Gates Family Fitness team. Megan started at Cross Gates in our Youth Activity Center and has since taken on more responsibilities. While working, Megan pursued her degree in Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University. Currently the Pontchartrain Dr. Club Manager, Megan has a passion for making members feel welcome and offering her services whenever and wherever they are needed.
Amie Meyers - Fitness Program Manager
Amie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999 with a BS in Athletic Training. For 4 years she worked for Slidell Memorial Hospital’s outreach program which covered all of the local high school’s athletic programs. She then went on to work as upper level management in the hospitality/hotel industry in downtown New Orleans for over 7 years. There she developed a love for our great city and a joy for providing excellent customer service. However, her heart has always been in the health and fitness industry where she enjoys encouraging everyone to strive to reach their fitness and athletic goals. This passion for sports and athletics has brought her back to Cross Gates as a part of our management staff and a Parisi performance coach.
Stephanie Howell - Group Exercise Manager
Stephanie has a BS Degree in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University. She has worked at Cross Gates since 1999 and really enjoys interacting with people who are making lifestyle changes, one workout at a time. She loves being a part of helping our members become healthier and stronger.
Jodie Graham - Business Office Manager
Jodie Graham started at the Front Desk in 1998. During her time working at the Front Desk, she learned how to create a great atmosphere for our members and our employees. Because of Jodie’s success, she was named Customer Service Provider of 2004 was promoted to Manager on Duty. In this position, Jodie implemented a new employee customer service training, which allowed her to spend her days training our staff to be their best. By 2006 Jodie had worked her way up to Business Office Manager where she was awarded Manager of the Year. In this position Jodie spends her days taking care of our members.
Damon Romero - Tennis Director
Damon started his career in tennis with the Club CorpOrganizations in the area of Clearwater, Florida while attending University of South Florida.I have been certified with the United States Tennis Professional Association forover 20 years other certifications with the USPTR and the USRSA. I have playedcompetitive tennis almost all my life but most enjoy the ability to teachothers about the game I am so passionate about. I am truly living the dream tobe able to offer you and your family a game that can last a lifetime.
Trip Illing - Food and Beverage Director
Trip grew up in Covington, LA and still resides there today. He graduated from LSU with a degree in Biology. Quickly realizing he did not want to go to medical school, Trip continued cooking and decided to pursue a degree in Culinary arts at Louisiana Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge. He spent time in Cannes, France catering the Cannes film festival and then traveled up and down the Italian and French Rivieras, eating and drinking his way through Europe. Upon his return to the U.S., he was appointed Executive Chef at Covington Country Club until he joined Crossgates.
